Studio Fix Powder-
MAC Studiofix is easy to use. It's talc-based formula means it goes on like a powder, yet the other ingredients mean it covers like a foundation. While drier complexions might not be suited to this formula, my sensitive oily skin has used it for 12 years with no aggravation.
The product can be applied with the supplied circular spongy applicator, or with a brush. I use the sponge for fuller coverage and it creates a flawless look. For days when I want a light coating of makeup without spending any time, I grab a face brush and apply Studiofix that way. It gives me a nice finish, but I don't look as though I have on any makeup.
Studiofix comes in many colors. A MAC salesperson can help you select the best one for your skin tone. MAC salespeople are usually very low pressure sales folks, and they know their products. I take advantage of their expertise with nearly every MAC purchase. I use the C6 formula, and when I learned they were discontinuing some colors, I bought 2 of the compacts!
The case for the Studiofix comes in a sleek, well-designed compact. The compact has two compartments. The top portion holds 0.52 ounces of the product and there is a mirror on the inside top of the case as well. The lower portion holds the sponge applicator circle, and this portion is ventilated so the sponge can air dry after cleaning. This hygienic design makes it easy to carry your foundation in your purse to give yourself quick touch-ups.
Studiofix covers well. I am getting the teenage acne I never had in my late thirties, and I need coverage. I also don't want to feel like a Kabuki dancer in heavy makeup. Studiofix allows me to cover imperfections without looking as though I am wearing a mask. The powder formula allows multiple applications of lighter makeup rather than a heavy application. You can put the makeup only where you need it, and blending it is a cinch. Studiofix also stays where you put it. I thought with a powder it would be everywhere, but the formula is such that it adheres well to your skin.
Studiofix has never bothered my sensitive skin. It contains: Talc, silica, isostearyl palmitate, methicone, methylparaben, propylparaben. It may contain Titanium dioxides, iron oxides, chromium oxide green, and ultramarines.
Overall, this is my favorite foundation ever, and I have tried liquids, sticks, creams, and powders. For ease of application, full coverage without heaviness, ease of transportation, and color selection, MAC Studiofix is my top choice of foundations. I highly recommend it.
