How Good Moisturization Keeps Skin Beautiful And Healthy As You Age

The skin is the largest organ in your body, but unfortunately it is often also the most neglected. However, while you may be able to get away with sleeping in your makeup and forgetting your sunscreen in your younger years, but once you head into your 30s and 40s, you will begin to see the signs of wear and tear.
Of course, keeping your skin well moisturized at any age is essential in order to improve skin tone and texture, but as you age, it becomes all the more important.
Moisturizing your skin both in the morning and at night helps the skin to retain water and prevent dryness, which is one of the main causes of wrinkles  and sagging.
One common misconception about moisturizing is that those with oily skin don’t need it, but although it is true that some creams and products aren’t suitable for oily skin, everyone no matter what their skin type, can benefit from a good moisturizer.
There are different types of skin, from oily to dry to combination skin and sensitive skin, and it is important to choose the right type of moisturizer.

Oily skin

Those with oily skin should generally use water-based products that won’t clog the pores and cause breakouts.

Dry skin

Dry skin needs to most moisture, and oil-based moisturizers are best for keeping dry skin moisturized throughout the day. Look for heavy and creamy moisturizers that can be applied throughout the day as necessary.

Combination skin

Combination skin is somewhere in between dry and oily, and generally does well with either oil or water-based creams, although you can also find creams designed specifically for this type of skin that are neither greasy nor overly light.

Sensitive skin

Sensitive skin can be oily or dry, but it needs special attention due to the fact that creams and products that contain fragrances or dyes can irritate the skin and cause rashes or other allergies. If you have sensitive skin, try to find products that contain natural ingredients and aren’t perfumed.
.
It’s also important to protect your skin from UV rays, even if you aren’t planning on sitting out in the sun for an extended period of time, so try to find day moisturizers that contain an SPF of 15as well.
Another thing to consider is that different ages also require different types of moisturizer, and many people even find that as they age, their skin type begins to change.
When you reach your 30s, you will start to notice that your skin is not as toned and supple as it once was; this is due to the fact that you produce less collagen and elastin at this age and it becomes less able to retain water. Because of this, it needs a lot more moisture and care than it once did in order to prevent lines and wrinkles.
In your 40s, you will begin to notice more of the aging process, and some lines and wrinkles will begin to show themselves. At this age, it is important to use sun block and reevaluate your skin type and the skincare products you are using to ensure that they still meet your skin’s needs.
At 50, certain signs of aging such as wrinkles, age spots and fine lines will be inevitable, and you will need to come to terms with the fact that your skin simply isn’t as flawless and smooth as it was in your younger years.
However, this doesn’t mean that there is nothing you can do to keep your skin luminous and healthy. Use anti-aging moisturizers and ensure that you wash your skin with cold or warm water, as hot water can cause the skin to dry out.
