For those who want their shampoo organic and natural are likely to be disappointed as even those shampoos marketed as natural are not without a significant amount of chemicals.
You will be compelled to come up with a homemade solution to enjoy a natural product without the synthetic chemicals. The chemicals in some of those commercial shampoos can be incompatible to your skin or even harmful at the extreme. This is one of the biggest disadvantages of commercial shampoos. Anti-dandruff: These ingredients include lemon, ginger roots, sesame oil and the Indian shikakai (or acacia pods). The anti-dandruff is an irreplaceable component in any shampoo product.
Oils: Oils come in the form of; rosemary, lavender, avocado, geranium, sesame, sunflower, jojoba, sandalwood and almond. Although oils are not pedigree shampoo component, their very vital ingredient for the hair. They are best utilized as mixtures in hot treatment or left to mature overnight before using it. Your choice of oil should be applied on the hair and scalp by massaging it deeply. You should then cover the oiled part with a shower cap and then kept warm for about fifteen to twenty minutes. A hair dryer or a hot towel can be helpful; alternatively you can cover it overnight. The oils give the hair its glow and shine.
Powdered henna: This is a conditioner and a coloring property that is blended with water and then applied deeply in to the hair; it is especially advised for dry hair. You can still use it for softer hair but it is not critical.
Herbs: Good herbs include rosemary and geranium, nettle leaves and horsetail. These are easy choice as they can be grown in the backyard. The herbs should be boiled and strained. For red color you can opt for beet and carrot juice.
Conditioners: Good conditioners can be made from; mixtures of avocado and coconut juice and from avocado and mayonnaise. Beer can also be a good conditioner when mixed with jojoba oils. The important point to ponder when coming up with conditioners is to get the light mixture.
Matrics: The matrics is vitally important as it is the one in which all the other materials revolve. The best known matrix is the eggs which are also very good for the hair. Alternatively you can use yorgut, gelatin, green tea, mayonnaise, and aloe Vera gel and coconut juice. In the extreme you can also opt for castile soap. The matrics help to nourish the hair and it is not considered to be shampoo without it.
To mix these ingredients and come up with your own best natural shampoo may call for a bit of chemical knowledge and also the best mix for your hair type, but not to worry. There are no absolute rules for the right mixture; in fact you should use all the ingredients to the maximum.
